"Trader" is who sells it and at which loyalty level (some require a
quest to unlock that level, or an Arena BattlePass tier, noted where it
applies) -- a blank Trader means the wiki lists no direct trader source
for it (flea market / barter / found in raid only).

Trader
Standalone ballistic plates -- what goes inside a plate-carrier vest (the
ones marked "Plates" in the Armor Table above). Effective Durability
accounts for the plate's blunt-damage soak on top of raw Durability, so
it's the better number for comparing plates head to head. "Trader" is
who sells it and at which loyalty level (some require a quest to unlock
that level, noted where it applies) -- a blank Trader means the wiki
lists no direct trader source for it (flea market / barter / found in
raid only).

Chest rigs. Some carry their own external plate pockets (shown as "Plates"
in the Class column, same as plate-carrier vests) -- hover a plate badge
to see exactly which plates fit that slot. Pure-storage rigs with no
armor at all are included here for capacity reference only. "Trader" is
who sells it and at which loyalty level -- a blank Trader means the wiki
lists no direct trader source for it (flea market / barter / found in
raid only).

Escape from Tarkov doesn't publish its real penetration formula. This uses the
rough approximation chance = 50 + (pen − armorClass×8)×2.5 + (100−durability)×0.15,
clamped 0–100%, and estimates post-penetration damage reduction (0–40%) on the same
curve. Treat it as a rough guide, not an exact in-game outcome. Non-penetrating hits
(blunt damage on unarmored zones, etc.) aren't modeled. In "Build a loadout"
mode, the plate's class replaces the manual pick, but the durability slider
still represents how worn the armor currently is (0–100%) -- it isn't
the plate's own raw Durability stat from the Armor Plates table (that's an
absolute point total specific to that model, not a wear percentage), and a
plate inside a rig isn't an extra layer to punch through -- it's the sole
protection for that zone, same as picking its class directly above.

Simplified external ballistics: gravity-only drop from muzzle velocity
(drop = ½×g×t², t = range/velocity), fired perfectly flat.
Real trajectories also lose velocity to air drag, which this doesn't model (the wiki
doesn't publish per-round ballistic coefficients), so actual in-game drop will be
somewhat greater at longer ranges than shown here. Useful for comparing rounds against
each other, not as an exact zeroing reference.
